Hypothesis Test : 'Performing a Full Hypothesis Test, Ex 1'
In this video, I show how to perform a one-tailed hypothesis test. In this video we discuss: formulating the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis, test statistic, one-tailed and two-tailed hypothesis testing, the central limit theorem, the decision rule, type 1 error, level of significance and more.
This video would be suitable as a nearly full lecture in a statistics class with a few extra supplemental examples.

Statistics and Hypothesis Testing Part 2 of 2
This video serves as an introduction to hypothesis testing in statistics. I discuss the the null hypothesis, the alternative hypothesis, type 1 error, type 2 error, discuss a real life example and work through the implications of our decisions. We also talk about type A correct decision and type B correct decision. In addition, level of significance, and the power of the statistical test is dis...

This video serves as an introduction to hypothesis testing in statistics. I discuss the the null hypothesis, the alternative hypothesis, type 1 error, type 2 error, discuss a real life example and work through the implications of our decisions. This video introduces terminology and concepts however I do not perform an actual hypothesis test using data and computations in this video.
2.4 PreAlgebra 'Problem Solving and Word Problems'
In this video we begin my looking at literal equations and discuss many examples of solving or isolating a variable. We look at other examples of applied linear equations involving question concerning simple interest, consecutive numbers, and consecutive odd numbers. We also examine how to take an (English) statement and translate it to the language of mathematics. This video is appropriate for...
PreAlgebra 2.3 'Combining Rules to Solve Equations'
In this video, I do a combination of sections 2.1 and 2.2 to solve linear equations. Many more examples of solving linear equation are shown including equations involving fractions. For the equation involving fractions, we show how to get rid of fractions by multiplying both sides of the equation by the LCM of the denominators. After that, we discuss identities and contradictions, showing linea...
PreAlgebra 2.2 ' Solving Equations Using the Multiplication Property '
In this video, I show how to use the 'multiplication property' to solve linear equations. I show how to solve a variety of different linear equations, expanding upon what I showed in section 2.1. We solve basic linear equations that one would first encounter in an algebra course.
PreAlebra 2.1 'Solving Equations Using the Addition Property'
In this video, we begin studying linear equations. We start by discussing what a linear equation is, how to determine if a value is a solution of a linear equation, and how to find solutions of some linear equations by using the addition property. This video will serve as the first step in showing how to solve linear equations.
PreAlgebra 1.7 'Multiplying and Dividing Terms'
In this video I begin by showing a quick review of exponential notation with numbers only. We then discuss exponential notation using variables and show how to multiply terms with like bases by adding exponents giving us a property of exponents. Likewise we apply the same procedure to show how to divide like terms by subtracting exponents. Many examples of applying these two properties of expon...
PreAlgebra 1.6 'Adding and Subtracting Like Terms'
In this video, I talk about what a 'term' is in Algebra. We discuss what it means to be a 'like term' and how to add and subtract like terms. I also discuss how to find the number of terms in an expression as well as the numerical coefficient of a term.
PreAlgebra 1 5 'Evaluating Algebraic Expressions'
In this video, we evaluate algebraic expressions using substitution. That is, we assign a numerical value to each variable and simplify the resulting numerical expression using the order of operations. We also discuss what it means for an equation (or a statement) to be true or false.
PreAlgebra 1.4 'Multiplying and Dividing Real Numbers'
In this video I show how to multiply / divide numbers with the same sign and with opposite signs. I also look at the multiplicative inverse property and the additive inverse property. Lastly I quickly review the order of operations and work a bunch of examples.
PreAlgeba 1.3 'Adding and Subtracting Real Numbers'
In this video I discuss how to add and subtract real numbers that have the same and different signs, talk about the additive inverse and also the additive identity and work a few examples.
PreAlgebra 1.2 'Properties of Real Numbers'
In this video I discuss the commutative property of addition and multiplication, the associative property of addition and multiplication, and also the distribution property. We take a look at a few different examples to illustrate these properties.
PreAlgebra 1.1 'Understanding Algebraic Expressions'
In this video we do a gentle warmup moving away from arithmetic and into algebra. I discuss notation, show how to write 11 different algebraic expressions, and how to determine if a something qualifies as an expression or not.
Cylinders and Quadratic Surfaces, Part 2 of 2
Here I show how to solve the questions asked at the end of part 1. I show how to graph 3 cylinders, how to sketch traces, and how to put two equations into standard form. This is material one could expect to see during a multivariable Calculus course.

6:35 g(x) -> g(5) also works. Not just g(-2). Do I write x = -2, x = 5?? Nevermind, the equation gives you the rest anyway, so I don’t need to find two function values of zeros, just one, fortunately 😊 Then keep doing synthetic division

Okay-first off. Your videos are amazing. Learned so much math from you over the past decade or so. One question-what prompted you to switch from white paper and marker to digital with a black backdrop? Also, your voice sounds different-is this still “you”? Anyways, thanks for the past decade of help 😊
